Salsa Pittsburgh was created in October 2000 by Jeff & Colleen Shirey. They have been teaching and promoting salsa events since 1999. Jeff was the Pittsburgh Cityguides Correspondent for salsaweb.com from 1999 to 2008, then established salsapittsburgh.com in 2008 as a way to provide salsa dancing related information to the local salsa dance community. Los Boyz Del Merengue from Cleveland, OH play at Mexico City on Saturday, May 19.
The Edgewood Club's monthly salsa social is Sunday, May 20. This will be the last salsa dance at the Edgewood Club until next September.
Salsa Pittsburgh's Summer Salsa Dance Weekend will take place June 8-10. Two nights of dancing and performances, Two days of workshops. Featuring Al "Liquid Silver" Espinoza and the LSP Dancers from Miami, FL. Click on event brochure for details.
The annual fundraiser for La Escuelita Arcoiris, a Pittsburgh nonprofit Spanish immersion preschool will take place on Saturday, June 16 at the Pittsburgh Opera in the Strip District. Orquesta Tropikiimba from Richmond, VA will provide the music for the evening. See below for more details and ticket information.
